Mawson’s Pavilion to Montrose Bay High School (4km return)
Mawson’s Pavillion (the red shed) is the traditional starting point for Fred’s Walk The Bay for Parkinson’s. There is ample parking at the Pavillion, and places to sit and rest before and after.
Montrose Bay High School backs on to the walking track and, if you want to walk in the opposite direction to previous years (Montrose Bay High to the Pavillion and back) there is parking close by, near the playground and rowing club. The walk to Mawson’s Pavillion from here is 2km, or 4km return. The official turn-around point for this walk (or start point, if you’re walking from the opposite direction) is the storage area for the rowing boats just before the high school (see picture).
As these walks are self-directed, you can start at either Mawson’s Pavillion or Montrose Bay High, whichever is most convenient for you.
