I met Scott in November, 2016. Scott is a 28 year-old man who lives with his family. He loves walking and being cheeky. Hence we get on well! I am privileged to support Scott 3 days a week. On these days, we go on an adventurous walk, perhaps bushwalking, walking the beach, hiking in a park or visiting farm animals.

Recently Scott and I set out on a mission to do something different. One morning as I was heading to pick Scott up I saw the Fred’s Walk the Bay for Parkinson’s banner at Montrose Bay.

The mission started. We set out to raise $500 in a
week. Scott loves walking so off we went door knocking to relatives and friends. It was quite challenging at times as Scott doesn’t like crowds but we were determined to raise what we could.

In the end the total amount raised was $440. Not a bad effort for a week of fund-raising. We had lots of laughs on the walk itself and had a thoroughly great time. On a few occasions, Scott would drop to his knees from tiredness, but with a KitKat in the backpack he was quite happy to get back up and keep plodding along. Great effort Scottie. We will be back next year with fundraising starting earlier.
